When it comes to a workout that does it all, boxing wins hands down — or should we say hands up? An all-over body blitz, it works your cardiovascular and endurance systems, increases strength and stamina, trains your upper and lower body, challenges your core, burns fat, blasts calories, and improves balance and coordination. It also leaves you feeling sore and sweaty – the good kind – in addition to releasing stress and anxiety due to the endorphin boost. All things considered, it’s hardly surprising that it’s one of the most popular ways for supermodels and celebrities to stay in shape.
If you’ve been wanting to kickstart your workout routine or are simply looking to try something new, the classes offered by these boxing gyms are guaranteed to get you fit and whip you into shape — fast!
A gym made for boxing, Fit Boys (it’s for girls too) isn’t about the frills and fancy touches. Rather, it’s about serious training under the guidance of professional fighters and instructors, some of whom are of Olympic status. Whether you opt for a private class or a group session, you’ll be given the full attention of your trainer, who will ensure you’re boxing to your best whilst pushing you to your absolute maximum. It’s not just ducking and jabbing – you can expect to be flipping some tires, running with dumbbells, crunching with medicine balls, and throwing some punches with your partner.

Round 10 Boxing
This is where the likes of Ola Farahat and Tala Samman go to train, and with very good reason. Round 10 Boxing caters to all ages and fitness levels, and it offers female-only sessions and even classes for kids. You can expect to burn between 800 and 1,000 calories in each hour-long class and work up a serious sweat under the watchful eye of Muhammad Ali – there are lots of posters of champs on the walls to get you inspired. Classes start with a 15-minute warmup of jogging, mini circuits, stretching, and body-weight exercises before leading up to 30 minutes of cardio drills with the boxing bag and a final 15 minutes of strength boxing with weights.

The Champion Club
Set up by three-time World Thai Boxing Champion Prince Amir, The Champion Club strives to bring high-quality martial arts, kickboxing, and Thai boxing to Dubai. There’s a strong emphasis on technique in the classes, so your trainer is more focused on making sure you’re doing it right than making sure you feel like you’re about to pass out. There are inter-club championships and some pretty serious equipment for the more dedicated boxers out there, including your usual gym facilities like rowing machines, cycle bikes, and weights, as well as huge tractor tires you can let loose on with a hammer. What better way to beat out some stress?
