Protein pancakes, vegan pasta, and a different smoothie bowl for each day of the week – if it’s good-for-you-grub that you’re seeking in Dubai, then there’s a whole host of new healthy hotspots catering to your culinary preferences. Read on to discover four of Goodness favorites.

The Hippy Deli

Whatever you order at The Hippy Deli, there are three words we guarantee you’ll find yourself saying rather a lot: oh, my, gosh. Not only is the food here seriously good, it’s also seriously good for you. The focus is on nutritious, plant-based concoctions that cover all dietary requirements from vegan to paleo, dairy-free to sugar-free, and everything in between.

There are healthy takes on classic comfort food like quinoa pasta served with lentil and walnut “neat” balls, burgers made with sweet potato, wild rice, and black peas served with kale and caramelized onions, and avocado toast topped with homemade vegan “cheeze”. Sweet tooth cravings will be satisfied by the creamy cacao and peanut butter chia pudding, the protein-packed apple pancakes made with chickpeas, or one of the refreshing açai bowls. Try the ‘Raspberry Rich’, which comes topped with a chocolate-hazelnut spread that puts Nutella to shame. A special shoutout goes to the vegan banana-oats French toast – it’s the actual stuff that dreams are made of.

The Hippy Deli is currently serving out of Kitchen Nation in JLT and through Deliveroo.

Bali Bowls & Smoothies

Thanks to this new healthy hotpsot, you’ll be transported to Bali with just a bite. A mini version of its popular Bali and Ibiza outlets, Bali Bowls & Smoothies is now open in Dubai. Tucked away in BARE Fitness, it’s well worth the visit, even if you’re not planning to work out. The eatery serves super smoothies, protein shakes, and power shots – each bursting with beneficial body boosters such as kale, bee pollen, berries, turmeric, apple cider vinegar, almond milk, and raw cacao (to name a few).

There are also guilt-free treats like coconut matcha bars and goji berry truffles on offer. Be sure to try one of its famous smoothie bowls (the “carrot cake” flavor is a firm favorite), which blend nut milks with fresh fruit and super powders and come topped with gluten-free granola and seeds. Sold.

In the words of its creators, holistic chef Neha Jamani and renowned healthy-lifestyle educator Irina Sharma, “Sesame is a new crop of plant-forward food with combined cooking techniques, style, and flavors from around the globe. We created it ground up fueled by determination to share nourishing food.”

The restaurant is all about clean, wholesome, nourishing food that’s good for both body and soul. It pairs fresh and exotic ingredients with styles and flavors from around the world. It also doesn’t hurt that chef Gohei Kishi (who is known for his creativity and unconventional methods) has previously worked in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Open all day, Sesame boasts nutritious breakfast options including omega porridge with nut butter and spices, carrot-banana pancakes, and savory dishes such as scrambled eggs on sourdough toast.

The main menu is crammed with intriguing and exotic dishes – think: falafel waffles with poached egg, five-spice lamb with rice noodles, and seaweed and lotus salad. Not to mention the delicious desserts, which range from salted chocolate pots to seasonal fruit crumble, all washed down with a botanical elixir or cold-pressed juice.

Single Fin Café

Situated in the cool Surf House Dubai just a stone’s throw away from the beach, the Single Fin Café is full of – you guessed it – surfer dudes and beach babes tucking into healthy, homemade grub. You can dine on avo and eggs on toast, açai smoothies, vegan Buddha bowls (complete with cauliflower rice and edible flowers), and gluten-free pancakes with caramelized bananas for breakfast.

Lunch and early evening meals are catered to with menu options like poke bowls, salads, burgers, and tacos. With vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, it’s the perfect place for anyone after some guilt-free comfort food. Those truffle parmesan fries? A must-order. Plus, you have the added bonus of being able to book a surfboard, sign up for a yoga class, or catch some waves with a surf or SUP lesson.
