This low impact but highly effective workout is perfect for anyone wanting to up their fitness game, burn fat, or just sweat out some stress – and what’s great is that you can go at your own pace.
So whether you’re a total newbie or could give Lance Armstrong a run for his money, book yourself into one of Dubai’s best spinning classes asap.
Crank may be the newest spinning studio in town, but it’s already running (or should we say biking?) circles around its competition. A boutique studio in the heart of the trendy Alserkal avenue, this is where indoor cycling meets cool. It’s all exposed pipes, brick walls, neon signs, and industrial materials – the perfect fit for its surroundings.
But, of course, we’re not here for the décor – we’re here for the ride. Crank offers signature 45-minute spinning sessions on 40 Schwinn bikes. This is a particular highlight, as they use the ‘Mpower System’ which tracks everything from your heart rate to your speed and place in the class, displaying the data on screens upfront. If that wasn’t motivation enough to get your legs going, the upbeat soundtrack and energy of the trainers is guaranteed to get you spinning for your life.

If the bright-red, sweaty faces of the people crawling out of FlyWheel aren’t enough to convince you of how hard you’ll work, we don’t know what will. Originally from New York, FlyWheel has dominated the fitness scene all over the world and is now a firm Dubai favorite.
In-house DJs create the playlists (which can range from house and hiphop to old-school tunes) and instructors choreograph each class to the booming beats. If you’ve got a competitive streak, then you will be pleased to know that you can track your progress on the giant ‘Torqboard’ screen and “race” against your neighbors. Your stats are added to your online account after each class, so you can see how much better you’re getting. As they say, the proof is in the pudding – and you’ll deserve a very big one after this.

Oozing cool stateside vibes and boasting the best views in town (hello, Burj Khalifa), Motion Cycling is the place to go if you’re after a female-friendly workout that’s tough but not intimidating. Classes take place in candlelight, music has been chosen to boost your mood, and words of encouragement adorn the walls. The trainers aren’t there to scream in your face, and instead they motivate and push you with their upbeat enthusiasm.
It’s not just about relentless cycling either, as you’ll find yourself on the handlebars doing tricep dips, grabbing a set of dumbbells to work your upper body, and closing your eyes and cycling to your own rhythm as a more chilled-out song comes on. This is a full-body workout we can’t get enough of.

The Platform has it all, including reformer Pilates, yoga, boxing classes, barre and HIIT workouts, CRYOtherapy, and even an in-house climbing wall. It also has – you guessed it – spinning. The 45-minute and 30-minute sessions are particularly great if you’re pushed for time and need to squeeze in a quick (but intense) workout before work.
Tucked away upstairs in this super-cool and trendy studio is the spinning room, in which you’ll find your state-of-the-art Stages bike. The music and club-style lighting is sure to get you pumped, but if you need some extra motivation just think about the delicious healthy treats waiting for you at the shake and coffee station.

One thing that really sets Surge Body Fitness apart from the rest is the seriously cool bikes. They move with your body and lean to the left and right, so not only do you give your core and upper body an added workout, but you feel like you’re actually riding a bike.
Classes here are all about that dreaded HIIT word, and although they will leave you dripping with sweat and panting for air, you’ll feel amazing for it. Think: hill climbs, sprints, and even some free styling at the end where you get to let loose, have some fun, and really go for it. Plus the dark room means no one will see your bright-red face, and trust us – theirs will be just as rouge.
